But it doesn't give you enough freedom and enough options that I find it fun as a stand alone program, and I'm not interested enough in the game to play with it longer than I did. I mean, it's an interesting character creation program, no doubt. Sure, I can make it wider or thinner, but can I change the shape of her breasts? Can I change the actual lay of her shoulders? Can I change the size of her hands to have hands like hamhocks if I want? No, I can not do that. Second, there's the fact that the body shape doesn't actually give me enough control over the body *shape*. Another aspect that sets Black Desert apart is the intricate crafting system. Your character can take on several trades such as fishermen or blacksmith. Tools are abundant when it comes to character creation. And the body shape adjuster was not actually robust enough to change her shape enough to make me feel like I could have taken one of the other female characters and changed up their shape enough to meet what I had in mind. What makes Black Desert such an appealing gaming experience is the freedom to do just about anything you could imagine. I tried to take a Tamer and change her from a vaguely Chinese scanning woman into something more European.įirst, that's sort of an issue because that was the only female body type that had a "small, lithe" body type that I wanted. And frankly, most adjustments just end up looking awkward. But again, they start with a particular racial template, which limits the number of things you can do without having to put either a shit ton of work into it, or making things look awkward. I mean, it's *pretty*, but robust? I've got Skyrim mods that make the Skyrim character creation far more robust, and they don't take up 6 gigs.ĮTA: Yes, I see where I can click on a section of the face and adjust things in various ways. It doesn't get much more impressive from there. The Kunoichi is a class that’s extremely mobile and capable of dealing out fast, powerful combos in Black Desert Online. It still locks you into a basic gender/racial trait structure for each character class, which limits a huge number of choices. The Kunoichi is a high mobility class ideal for PvP in Black Desert Online.

Your #1 Choice MMA Gym and Jiu Jitsu Classes in San Gabriel Valley But by then you are already living the martial arts lifestyle! You will increase your fitness level and your confidence in yourself and with that you will start to do things you might not have ever done before. You will gain new friends and family in your training partners. You will go from Zero understanding to being instinctive with practice. If you stick with it, you will get so much from training whether you decide to choose one martial art to train or several. It’s the journey and the ride not the destination that matters. You won’t reach perfection but if you chase it, you will attain excellence. This quote “Excellence in the Pursuit of Perfection” sums up the journey you will embark on if you decide to start training Mixed Martial Arts. There is simply too much to know and like I said before there are too many variables and combinations. The only thing you will understand quickly about Brazilian Jiu jitsu or Mixed Martial Arts is how much information there is and how fun and addicting it becomes to learn. Understand that this is the approach some gyms take on marketing their service and it is very similar to headlines you see on People’s magazine of “How to Lose 15 Pounds in 5 Days” and we all know that’s not reality and there is no quick fix, just consistency, discipline and hard work. You should be weary of anyone claiming “Mastery” especially statements like “How to Master Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Mixed Martial Arts”. Adding additional practice and understanding of striking either by itself or in addition to grappling and the variables become much more complex. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has often been compared to chess with all the combinations of moves and counter moves available. It simply does not end. Techniques you may learn early on and make your favorite get replaced by a whole new set of techniques. And that is not to mention how much the practitioner evolves themselves. What may work against one person at one time may not work against the next person. So many variations of a technique, different transitions, and different applications with the gi (where you can grab the clothing of your opponent) or Nogi (similar to wrestling and you cannot grab the clothing of your opponent). I have been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 10 years now and I have been taught so many lessons on the mat. Often when I learn something new it takes me back to my first lessons and that feeling that comes from learning a new technique. Most of my instructors made learning the techniques simple by breaking them down and having us drill them over and over. I had some really great instructors over the years. I didn’t start training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu until well after watching the UFC on VHS back in the 90’s. They know what they are watching when they see boxing or other striking martial arts styles. People tend to understand striking more easily. There were not too many people that understood what was going on and even less people that could explain it at the time. People including myself stood amazed as a lanky Blackbelt with the last name of Gracie ended fights from his back, wrapped powerful strikers up with his limbs and submitted them with almost magical techniques. In those early days we got to see boxing versus wrestling, Karate versus Muay Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu versus all the styles that entered the ring or the cage. Fighters back then came from one martial part form or discipline and were pitted against another martial art form to see who would reign supreme. MMA or Mixed Martial Arts has evolved from its early days in the UFC. Try this MMA Gym and Jiu Jitsu Classes in San Gabriel Valley for Free. It is more important now than ever for MMA fighters to understand multiple styles and have the specific conditioning that each discipline requires. We all had a great exchange of styles and that’s what learning martial arts is all about. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu after all these years since Royce Gracie took the stage at the first Ultimate Fighting Championships, the martial art still has a certain magical effect on those that witness it for the first time. But as dedicated strikers, they came to Versus to learn to improve their grappling and ground fighting skills. Their head coach is a very enthusiastic, dedicated and skillful striker and his work with his students shows. Versus Fitness opened its doors for a second time to a young local MMA Team for a friendly cross training practice of striking and grappling. Modern Warfare 3 ladles on set piece after set piece in a truly bombastic finale to the Modern Warfare trilogy. It’s a great military FPS for the time, but it’s a far cry from what the Call of Duty series is known for today. In fact, Call of Duty would possibly have been higher on this list, but for the fact that the assault on the Reichstag that represents the game’s climax is actually revisited – for the better, I might add – in 2008’s World at War. However, by being as straight-laced and matter-of-fact as it is, it’s a pure streamlined affair. The game that started it all, Call of Duty is very much a product of its time, from its lack of exposition (not always a bad thing, to be honest) down to certain game mechanics – for instance, this is the only COD in the main series not to feature regenerating health. The major let down is a real lack of character development over the course of the campaign. Set in an alternate reality where a new world order is established after the Middle East has been decimated by nuclear war, Ghosts tells a functional story with some highlights that elevate it, including a mission that serves as a precursor to Infinite Warfare, a couple of surprising twists, a cliffhanger ending that actually deserves a resolution and, most importantly, a mo-capped dog that sits in your tank during one mission. In retrospect, the campaign in Ghosts has been unfairly labelled guilty by association. Yes, I’m aware that Ghosts might very well be regarded as the worst Call of Duty, certainly in recent years, but that’s primarily down to average multiplayer and a poor man’s Zombies mode in the form of Extinction. But apart from that we can’t actually remember any standout missions, and that’s kind of what Call of Duty does best. The best example of this comes late in the game when, having had access to all manner of abilities throughout, all of them are abruptly removed, forcing you to revert to relying on your own reflexes and instincts. Traversal is a highlight with the exosuit allowing all kinds of experimentation on the battlefield, and Advanced Warfare not only utilises its near-future setting better than most, but isn’t afraid to subvert it at times, too. Some big advances in mo-capping and an A-list actor playing the bad guy are not enough to raise this tedious campaign any higher on our list. It’s worth playing, if only for the sake of completion, but don’t expect to be raving about it afterwards. Only a desperate defence of the town of Chambois that forces you to improvise regularly proves to be a standout moment. Whilst the campaign is perfectly acceptable and the tank sections in particular are a lot of fun to play, it’s all just a bit forgettable. Unfortunately for Treyarch, their first entry in the main series came towards the peak of apathy towards shooters set during either World War. Join us as I use science to objectively tell you the definitive ranking of Call of Duty campaigns. There have definitely been some lulls along the way, not to mention an outright abandonment of single player in the form of Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII, but the latest crop of Call of Duty campaigns show the series is capable of dropping jaws every now and then. Those experiences were pretty damn good, too, and dragged FPS games into the 21st century with blockbuster set pieces, not to mention relatively new mechanics like regenerating health and aim down sights. While many players have been firmly hooked on the series’ multiplayer modes since 2007, it can be easy to forget that Call of Duty started out as a primarily single player experience. In that time, we’ve had three new main Call of Duty campaigns to factor in, so we’ve adjusted the article to reflect those changes.ĭid you know that there are 16 Call of Duty campaigns available to play through for PC players? Neither did we, and we’ve played the whole lot of them (even some of the console only ones like Big Red One, but we can’t talk about those here, shhhhh). January 26, 2021 We originally published this back on 7 December, 2016. In his paper, Tom Richards, the co-developer of the program, justified the birth of NVivo in the face of the reputation and long history of NUD*IST. The developers of the software have described it as an improved and expanded version of the NUD*IST 3. NVivo, one of the current popular qualitative data management programs, has its roots in the NUD*IST. The dawn of CAQDAS was marked by the development of a program called Non-numerical Unstructured Data Indexing Searching and Theorizing (NUD*IST), which was specifically designed for qualitative data management in 1980's. To lessen this burden, it is important that health researchers become aware of the possibilities of using Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS) such as ATLAS.ti, MAXqda, NVivo and N6. The systematic and rigorous preparation and analysis of qualitative data is usually time consuming and labour intensive 2. Qualitative research usually produces large amounts of textual data in the form of transcripts and field notes. In recent years, there has been an increase in number of qualitative studies been carried out by health professionals. However, when we want to broaden or deepen our understanding of how things came to be the way they are in our social world, qualitative research has no substitute 1. Quantitative research tells us how often or how many behave in a certain way. CAQDAS are basically data management packages, which support the researcher during analysis. In other words, researchers must equally know that no software can analyse qualitative data. The key message is that unlike statistical software, the main function of CAQDAS is not to analyse data but rather to aid the analysis process, which the researcher must always remain in control of. In this paper, the author reflects on his experience of interacting with one of the popular CAQDAS (NVivo) in order to provide evidence-based implications of using the software. While the issue of mastering CAQDAS has received ample attention, little has been done to address the misconceptions associated with CAQDAS. This may be due to the difficulties that one has to go through to master the software and the misconceptions that are associated with using CAQDAS. Although the CAQDAS has been there for decades, very few qualitative health researchers report using it. However, Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS) are increasingly being developed. For a long time, electronic data analysis has been associated with quantitative methods. Once the vehicle is destroyed you can find the Most Wanted car in parked in open world, like other drivable vehicles are, as well as being able to drive it using the EasyDrive menu. If you are again unable to destroy their vehicle they will again despawn and you will have to wait for them to spawn again. From my experience, they spawn about as frequently as Fairhaven's police cars. The Most Wanted racer will randomly spawn in the open world and you will have another opportunity to take them down. If this happens, continue exploring/free roaming the in the open world. If you aren't able to take down the Most Wanted driver after the race they may manage to escape and disappear from your minimap. Take-downs work the same way as you would destroy a police vehicle or opposing racer in the game - slam into their vehicle hard enough to destroy it. After winning against a "Most Wanted" driver in Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012) they will drive away and you must "take down" their vehicle to receive it as an award. Considering that however, its high rank should then prove just how enjoyable this game is. Not to mention, the lack of a campaign mode further increased my initial doubts. As a CoD purist, I was initially very skeptical based on the consistency CoD has delivered over the past 5 years. It’s hard to rank a new game among such greats but the fact is, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is a really good game. This will probably be the most controversial seeding to my ranking of the 7 best Call of Duty game. Although it didn’t helm the extent of memorable multiplayer maps as its predecessors, Mission and Dome are excellent additions to the expansive list of great Call of Duty multiplayer maps. Not to mention the gripping tension from the mission, Escaping the diamond mine. The campaign of MW3 offered the long-awaited finale of series protagonist Vladimir Makarov as you were finally able to play with Captain Price in an epic showdown. It may be hard to image now but Call of Duty use to release nearly flawless games, one after another. In all fairness to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, it was released just a year after one of the greatest online shooters of all time. Let us not forget, Modern Warfare 2 also delivered arguably the all-time best multiplayer map in CoD history, Rust. There is no telling how many hours were spent on the excellently designed maps of Favela or Estate. Nevertheless, Modern Warfare 2 had one of the best campaign modes with excellent missions like No Russian.Īlthough it might not have had quite the amount of memorable multiplayer maps as Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2 still had its fair share. Released two years after the original Modern Warfare, CoD did the absolute best they could to recreate the memorable experience had in 2007. This was the case for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. There was a time when Call of Duty would release a game that wasn’t quite as spectacular as the original yet still amazing. With some of the most memorable and fun multiplayer maps ever introduced in Call of Duty, Standoff and Hijacked were excellently crafted small maps for fast-paced action that still allowed for sniping and the creation of sections. The multiplayer option of a Pick 10 loadout system that was easily customizable, created an online shooter haven that still holds up today. Unlike the disaster futuristic tech of jetpacks in Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 2 offered players excellent future gameplay with the addition of missions featured in the Cold War as well. 3) Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (2012)Ĭall of Duty: Black Ops 2 continued to evolve from the positive experience had in 2010 with Black Ops by offering branching narrative paths in the campaign mode, a revolutionary CoD concept in 2012. The fact that developers had to push the Modern Warfare remaster as a reason to buy the Legacy Edition of the disappointing Infinite Warfare, just proves the deep passion CoD fans have for the original Modern Warfare. CoD 4 also introduced some of the most memorable maps in Call of Duty history with Overgrown, Crash, Pipeline, Shipment, Crossfire and Vacant. With the addition of customization and killstreaks, Modern Warfare set a multiplayer precedent that developers have been eager to replicate ever since. In probably the greatest moment in CoD campaigns, All Ghillied Up was one of the tensest missions to date and therefor, not easily forgotten. Breaking away from the tradition of historical first-person shooter games, CoD 4 brought near-future terrorist action to the homes of nearly every gamer, revolutionizing the shooter genre. Honestly, if someone wanted to arguing that it is ranked above Black Ops I would totally understand. It was difficult not ranking Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as the best CoD ever made. Black Ops also introduced gamers to some of the most beloved maps in CoD history such as Firing Range, Summit, Villa, Havana and of course, Nuketown. The multiplayer mode was also revolutionary with the addition of Gun Game, where every kill you get forces you to use a different weapon. Goywer, who was responsible for film trilogies such as The Dark Knight and Blade. Its greatness should come as no surprise however when you learn that it was co-written by David S. Set in the 1960s during the Cold War, the original Black Ops campaign mode was easily one of the best as you got to play characters that resembled a combination of Apocalypse Now and The Deer Hunter. In my opinion however, Call of Duty: Black Ops was the best CoD game they ever released. 1) Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010)Īny Call of Duty fan will argue what the absolute best CoD was and surely it comes down to personal preference for roughly the top 3. This MAY not include your favorite Call of Duty game. But Angus had a vision on how parametrics could help with design, especially with the type of work his business was being commissioned to do. I remember meeting Angus about 4 years ago, his company where early adopters of Revit. I did a 30 min presentation on Managing Large Concept Design Projects, which I think was well received, certainly got a lot of questions after the event about what I showed.Īngus Brown from Fraser Brown Mackenna Architects did an excellent presentation on how they had created parametric content for the development of many of there student accommodation projects. Good to see many old faces either from firms that I had presented to in the past or ex colleagues. Good event, although it was a long day and rather jam packed. I attended yesterdays Excitech Revit User Group. This short video introduces you to the new adaptive family and demonstrates how to create a simple structural tree support. Understanding how the new adaptive points react and their various parameters is without doubt the key. Whilst Inventors adaptive tools resolve the problem, I wanted to do this in Revit! :-) So when I saw the new adaptive component family in Revit 2011, I immediately got excited as I remembered the modelling challenges I had encountered in the past. Load distribution was a nightmare! My special thanks goes out to Househam Henderson for allowing me to use the image above. At the time this was modelled in AutoCAD release 13, yes you did read that right, that's how old the project is! The big challenge at the time was the scheme constantly changed as the designer and the structural engineer refined the concept further. So a structural tree support system was designed to support the roof. One issue was that the new glazed roof would need supporting from the atrium floor level. This would provide a cafe and a social area for staff and visiting guests. The building being renovated had an enclosed court yard which was opened to the elements, but the plan was to enclose this courtyard with a glazed roof to form an atrium. This was for a TV company that were refurbishing a building, turning it into their new offices and studios in central London. Whilst this was a virtual design concept, the original idea came about from a real project I had been involved in 12 years earlier with Househam Henderson Architects. Of particular interest at the time was Inventors adaptive capabilities and we used these to great affect in a structural atrium support solution. Part of this presentation showed how to model in Inventor and then pass the geometry to Revit as a SAT file for use within a Revit project. A few years back when I worked for a well known UK reseller, a colleague and I put together a presentation to demonstrate how Inventor and Revit could work together. For shorter video you can set it higher - 2.00 for a 25-second video, etc. For a 50 second video, the default Frames Per Second (FPS) setting on 1.00 is fine. If you have time, you can set the Blurriness filtering to Normal. The default settings are fine in most cases. But I strongly advice to walk through the whole process manually the first time so you know whats happening. If you feel confident about your video skills, you can take a shortcut by selecting the first two Additional Options in the left column.
